DLL Account Manager Phil Biggins and owner of Rob Sinclair Equipment Finance, Rob Sinclair, spoke to ATN about how DLL has continued to help its partner navigate changes and challenges over the past years.

“About 10 years ago we reached out to DLL because we had a second dealership opening. We had a meeting, put a together a floor plan and we started working with them,” Sinclair says.

“At the time, we had another facility with another supplier, but once we got to know DLL over a 12-month period and started to work with them, we suggested we roll the other facility over to them too.

When DLL saw we consistently did the right thing they gave us extensions to grow the business.

Then, about five years ago they spoke to us about the retail finance side and that’s been very good, it’s given us another string to our bow that really sets us apart from other dealers.”

“DLL is probably more adapted to the spread of the age of equipment we sell,” Sinclair says.

“Because we’re a specialised asset finance company we can separate ourselves from the bigger banks,” Biggins explains. “We’re more comfortable and flexible when it comes to financing assets that have been used than a lot of other, traditional financiers.

We offer competitive interest rates aligned with very effective service levels, so we can turn things around quickly to present a great offering in the asset finance space.”

“We were really happy to find a finance partner that was both competitively priced and offered a good service,” Sinclair says.

“When you’re at the point of sale or selling an asset and it gets to the finance stage, it needs to happen quickly.

Unfortunately, that tends to be what the customer leaves until last. When they decide to buy a truck and they need to get finance, they want that truck yesterday.”

Sinclair says two key things that sets DLL apart from other finance partners are simple, yet effective. They possess extensive knowledge of his business and assets, and they always pick up the phone.

“The service and the turnaround times are the most important things, there isn’t much more to it. When you’re working with DLL you know someone is going to be on the other end of the phone, they’re going to be responsive, and things are going to move.”

At the end of the discussion, Sinclair perhaps summed up DLL’s offerings in the transport financing market simply, but effectively.
