With the Green Deal for Europe, Dutch environmental policy and European agricultural policy become an extension of each other. Agricultural entrepreneurs will find that their performance with regard to the environment, climate, nature and water management determines whether they are eligible for income support from Brussels. Under the Green Deal, the food industry contributes to a healthier and more sustainable diet for consumers through changes in the labeling, composition and packaging of products. In addition, food waste will be made more measurable and targets will be set for reduction.
