The ability to seamlessly complete leasing and financing agreements with customers is a major part of Telekom Deutschland GmbH’s daily business. Deutsche Telekom offers broadband network, mobile telecommunications, and other telecom services to residential and commercial customers in Germany. The telecommunications company has been using DLL’s Finance mobile app since June 2018.

The DLL Finance app is a mobile app for tablets and smartphones that gives Deutsche Telekom the ability to create financing solutions for its customers, anytime and anywhere. Background
One of the core aspects of digitalization is the fast speed of as many processes as possible. This applies to all stakeholders—whether it is the provider of digital goods and services or their users. “Speed is very important for our customers as well,” says Thomas Obst, Head of Apple Product Management for Telekom Deutschland GmbH. Deutsche Telekom sought a solution that would make leasing and financing communication with customers significantly faster and more interactive. Before the DLL mobile app was introduced, it was customary for the Apple Service Team to raise internal inquiries with Deutsche Telekom, receive corresponding financing quotes and forward the details to the customer by e-mail.

One consequence of the former process was it always took a couple of days before the customer received a quote. “The product is very important for us, of course,” says Obst. “The technology is very important. The processes are also very important. At the end of the day, we have to deliver the services we promise.”

Solution
In working closely together as a reliable partner, DLL won over Deutsche Telekom to help them achieve those aims. Within two months, DLL and Deutsche Telekom completed an agreement and had the project operation ready in June 2018. “Together with the Deutsche Telekom team on site, we trained over 600 people in more than 15 different cities in Germany and then held multiple WebEx trainings,” says David Feyer, DLL Account Manager.

Results
Deutsche Telekom can now quickly and effectively share an offer with customers directly on site and close the deal without disruption by leveraging the DLL Finance app. More than 1,000 users now use the mobile app. As a result, more than 200 inquiries were converted into nine contracts in just a few weeks.
