Eindhoven - Asset based financing company De Lage Landen (DLL) has been named European Lessor of the Year at this year’s Leasing Life Conference and Awards in Berlin. DLL was acknowledged for its consistent growth in new business volume, backed up by Leaseurope’s annual ranking which reports DLL as the best performing leasing company in Europe in 2012. The jury of the Leasing Life Awards stated that “what marked this year’s winner out from the rest was consistently incredible business growth – growing new business and profit year-on-year in 2012 and in the first half of 2013 while others have remained flat or dropped.”DLL also impressed the judges for being at the very top of the industry in terms of scale, presence, ambition and products and services, according to their report.
On the level of products and services, DLL also received the Product & Service Innovation Awards for its achievements linked to the upcoming circular economy. Based on DLL’s Life Cycle Asset Management program, DLL designed a cradle-to-cradle finance product designed specifically for a manufacturer. The jury was impressed by DLL’s clear move towards sustainable business models, claiming that DLL “has led the industry when it comes to innovation and was able to demonstrate it has applied this progressive thinking to the products and services it offers.”
Focus on partnerships
Prior to the award ceremony, Leasing Life hosted an industry conference touching on the status of today’s leasing initiatives. DLL presented at this conference its thoughts about sustainable partnerships in a joint presentation with joint venture partner Wacker Neuson. DLL’s country manager Thomas Stahl and Wacker Neuson CFO Günther Binder took stage to explain that true partnerships are not only based on commercial perspectives, but are primarily born out of joint beliefs. “This presentation was received as one of the most refreshing in a section where DLL partner Cisco also pitched and our outsourcing partner Genpact challenged the audience on process excellence in financial services,” DLL’s reacted Jean-Pierre Vissers, Executive Vice President Vendor Finance Europe, from the conference in Berlin.
